Honored to have done a 3-Day Workshop for the Walt Disney Company in September 2022. I wasn't able to post anything for awhile, but now I am able to post this trailer. It was an incredible experience and reinforced how much I love the work that I do. To be able to educate and use my animation as a tool to do is such a privilege.
Last night, I gave my College students a powerful, inspirational 2-hour presentation. If you know any artists, creatives who want to freelance or become creative entrepreneurs, please share this snippet with them. This lecture is from a complete workshop series I developed on the business of freelancing.
We all have heroes – whether they are our parents or the Caped Crusader. But - especially for kids - it’s important to have a hero that you can look up to AND relate to. Artist, David Heredia wanted to make sure his kids could read about heroes who looked like them, so he took matters into his own hands and ended up with Heroes of Color.
During the end of my NALAC workshop on sharing tips to artists learning about entrepreneurship, I shared one of the most important habits of growth. Networking and all that it entails.
Telemundo's English youtube channel produced an amazing 22 minute episode discussing the journey of artists with a mission! It was an absolute honor to be selected among the group of art advocates. I just cut my piece out, but if you want to see the entire segment, please click here.
One of the things I love the most about teaching at College of The Canyons is the ability to take a student's simple question and respond in a manner that provokes thought, self-reflection, and reminds them that we should always aspire to exceed expectations.
I was honored to be invited as a motivational guest speaker to a group of recent high school graduates and Jr. college graduates who are about to transition to either a 4-year University or first time college. All of these amazing students have been awarded scholarships to help them in their new journey. Among the awards, each one picked a Heroes of Color, Multicultural art print as an additional gift. Truly humbled and honored.
This year, I had the pleasure of coaching three clients. I helped each of them accomplish their goals. It was an amazing experience to have impacted their lives by offering exercises, worksheets, discussions and well thought out action plans. I am excited to announce a group coaching program for freelancers called "The Freelance Hustlers." The Art Mentorship Group is designed to:
Applicants will be expected to participate in monthly meetings (zoom) to discuss project objectives and will be held accountable for making progress on their goals. If members are unable to attend a live zoom chat, the recording will be posted on the private Facebook group and attendees are expected to engage via facebook and submit any work requested.
Members will occasionally be asked to pitch their projects to the group for feedback and constructive critiques. An individual assessment will be made for each member to help determine the goals they hope to achieve. This assessment will be reviewed periodically to make sure that goals are being reached and make any adaptations that are necessary. Goals change!
WHO IS THIS FOR?
If you have been thinking of creating, launching, and monetizing your next BIG idea, then this group is for you.
