Hiring Animators for 10-Week Program
Employment Type: Part-Time (Ten Week assignment)
Start Date: January 23, 2023
Location: South Bay Region, San Diego, California
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 16-20 hours/week between the hours of 8a-3p,
Pay: $30 Hourly

Heroes of Color, LLC is an education company promoting culture and entrepreneurship through art, animation, books, and creative programs. Our new initiative, “The Junior Animators,” is a pilot program designed to introduce digital animation to 5th graders in the National School District in San Diego, California. Students will learn how to animate on iPads and create 15-30 second public service announcements that will raise awareness of social justice issues in their communities.

- Lead 90-minute animation workshops with curriculum provided by program director.
- Animating using Rough Animator app on iPads (using Apple Pencil).
- Take photos, and record short videos during class (for the company blog)
- Create storyboards and edit videos on iMovie
- Desire to inspire, motivate and empower students of color
- Candidate must have previous experience with classroom instructions whether social programs or traditional classroom settings.
- Experience in illustration and can provide a website or digital portfolio with animation samples for review
- Ability to build, design and edit on iMovie is required. Familiarity with Rough Animator is preferred.
- Experience working with elementary aged students in a classroom or after-school programs settings
- Pass criminal background check via fingerprinting before hiring
- Personal transportation to transport between 2 schools each week
